Stately Homes
This group meets from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, on the first Thursday of each month, at St Lukes Church Hall.
December saw nearly 30 of the group have a trip to York. Our first visit of the day was to the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall and we enjoyed a talk from one of the guides there. We also found it had a good cafe, just right for when you get off the Park & Ride bus. The second treat was to ‘The York Chocolate Story’, not quite a Stately Home but we did get some history of the chocolate-making families from York along with plenty of samples of sweets. We even made our own chocolate lollies. A great visit for all ages. Our 2020 programme starts on Thursday, February 6th with a talk on the Royal Palaces of Scotland. Please feel free to join us at St Luke’s Church Hall at 2 o’clock.
