Ashington and District U3A is a small, but growing, group of likeminded people who meet together to continue their commitment to life, learning in a friendly social atmosphere, making new friends.

There are no examinations, no qualifications to be gained but lots of new friends to be made. Our Group is Open to anyone retired from full time employment.

Our annual yearly Membership fee is £13.00 due each year in January before the 31st, also an optional £3.60 for the national magazine if required “Third Age Matters” Produced by the Third Age Trust.
If Joining after August the Membership fee is only £7.00 for the remainder of the year.

As a group, we will be delighted to welcome you for two general meetings before you need to pay any subscriptions. Unfortunately, due to changes in insurance cover, this does not include individual groups.

There is a monthly group meeting held on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 12:45pm to 3:00pm, (except August), at Trinity Church hall, Station Road, Ashington, NE63 8RN.

When attending meetings at Trinity Church Hall there is a small entrance charge of £2:00 which covers the Hall rent and a Tea or Coffee provided during the meeting refreshment break before our speaker for the afternoon. This is a good time for a chat with members and enjoy Cakes and Biscuits provided for a nominal fee £0:50p.

We have numerous interest groups most of whom meet on a monthly basis, these groups have their own expenses, to cover materials and room hire etc, which are at the discretion of the group members and their convenor.
