ALN/VALLEY RAILWAY/HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, WIDDRINGTON
30 members of the group were able to greet the day in bright sunshine and travel to the Lionheart business park in Alnwick to tour the Aln Valley railway project last Friday. After an informative talk on the history and project continuance of the scheme by organiser Roger Jermy, we left N°3 railway carriage and ventured on-site to tour the railway stock. The Alnwick moors wind began to blow and very soon our departure for lunch in Amble was very well received.
Afterwards, Holy Trinity church, Widdrington was our next port of call. Where we enjoyed a presentation by Neil Taylor, local writer, before wandering among the spring flowers and headstones and appreciated the glorious weather.
