Description of Walk:
The Bluebell and Wild Garlic Walk
The route starts north and up Slack lane, then turns NW up a gently rising hill passed Woodside farm, down the quiet Stanton lane. Here is the first bed of wild garlic, we then turn S down the valley of the bluebells and more wild flowers, following Ordley Brook. This can be muddy depending on the rain in the previous week. We leave the valley through Gold’s wood on a short but steep path through a carpet of bluebells. There is a gentle rise to the Limestone Way which we cross and descend via Hollow lane to the pub. Total height rise is about 200m similar to most walks. Some stiles. There is a short cut we can use passed Dydon farm if conditions are bad. There is also a short half mile “commando” extension with extra mud and fallen trees to get over and under, which if anyone wants to do I will give them a map!
