Instead it is hoped to hold a ZOOM meeting at which there will be a presentation and discussion about some talented British women artists. Details will be finalised in due course.

Wed Aug 4thWalkingAs the Ashbourne u3a Welcome Back Garden Party at Yeldersley Hall will commence at 2.30pm, Doug Billings will lead a 4.5 mile walk commencing at 10.00am from The Shoulder of Mutton at Osmaston for those wishing to undertake a morning walk as well & for those not attending the Garden Party. Circular walk from Denstone Farm Shop round JCB Lake. Refreshments at the Farm Shop. 3 mile level walk.
Sue Hawkings and Jill Smith have kindly volunteered to lead the walk together. Car Pool from corner opposite Homebase at Waterside Park at 1.30p.m. prompt.
The reason we want to resume car sharing is that some members who do not drive have been unable during the past year to participate in walks which did not start in Ashbourne. Out of respect for fellow members, please wear a face mask when sharing a car with someone with whom you do not customarily circulate.
Please let Sue Hawkings know if you are going to join the walk so we can book with the Farm Shop for refreshments.

Thu Aug 12thCyclingMeet at 10.30 am by the roundabout at the top of Old Derby Road where it meets Wyaston Road for a ride to Marston Montgomery and lunch at The Crown Inn. We will be going via Wyaston, Rodsley, Alkmonton and Great Cubley, returning via Great Cubley, Yeaveley and Wyaston. Total distance approx 20 miles.
Please let me know by the 11th August if you are coming.

Derby Connect bus available. Meet at Waterside car park. The bus will pick up outside Halfords and depart at 1.00p.m.
The walk will leave the Minninglow car park at 1.30p.m. Please reserve a seat on the bus. If you are travelling by car
it would be helpful if you book in for the walk.

Wed Sep 1stWalkingHopefully Covid regulations then applicable will permit car sharing & departure from Waterside at 9.30am for a 4.75 mile walk from Eyam led by Peter Worboys to be followed by lunch at The Miners Arms. The walk was last done on 7 September 2016. We can commemorate the villagers' emergence from the bubonic plague in 1665. No arrangements have yet been made. This will be undertaken nearer the day after Covid regulations have been reviewed, & will then be published here.

We will have a comfort break stop on the way and way back.
Refreshments cannot be pre-booked this year but the Orchard Room will be available and we will allow time for visitors to have refreshments and visit their gift shops.
Bring tough shoes or wellingtons of weather not good.
