Thu Oct 21stCyclingMeet at 10.30am by the roundabout where Old Derby Road meets Wyaston Road. (Parking on Old Derby Road near to roundabout). The ride takes us to The Crown Inn, Marston Montgomery for lunch via Wyaston, Yeaveley, Alkmonton and Boyleston. We will return via Great Cubley, Yeaveley and Wyaston. Total distance approx 20 miles. The first part of the route is approx 11.5 miles so we will have a break midway. Please bring a mask with you in case the pub requires it. Please let me know by the 19th Oct if you are coming.

Wed Oct 27thArt AppreciationThis meeting will take place using Zoom and will be a presentation on the life and work of Dame Laura Knight. Dame Laura was elected to the Royal Academy in 1936, the first woman to be so honoured since the Academy was founded in 1768! Further details and the link to the meeting will be emailed to members of the group nearer the time. The meeting will commnce at 2-30pm.

Fri Oct 29thLandscape & HeritageVisit to Repton, travelling by car. At 10.30am, we will have a visit to Repton Church with Andy Austin as our guide. This will last about an hour and a half. Afterwards, please make your own arrangements for lunch. At 2pm, there will be a guided tour of the historic parts of Repton School with the school archivist, Paul Stephens. Please note that there are steps and stairs on this visit. The cost is £6 each payable on the day. Now fully booked.

Wed Nov 3rdGardensTrentham Gardens and Christmas Shopping - a Day-ticket to roam the gardens and lakeland is £10.50 payable upon entry but if gardens do not appeal then there are lots of lovely gifts and plants to buy in the retail park adjoining the gardens. There is also plenty of choice in the way of cafes and restaurants. The cost of travel is estimated at £14 but I am hoping this new date will allow this to be reduced nearer the time. Depart Waterside 09.15 return at about 5.00

Meet at the roundabout where Old Derby Road meets Wyaston Road and Old Hill at 10.30am. The ride goes to the Red Lion at Hollington for lunch via Osmaston, Moorend and Ednaston, returning via Shirley, Rodsley and Wyaston. Total distance approx 18 miles The run out is approx 10.5 miles so we will have a break on the way. Please let me know if you are coming by the 2nd Nov so that I can book a table for lunch

A minibus will leave Ashbourne Bus Station at 9.30am and the Waterside Retail Park, outside Majestic, at 9.35. We expect to be back at about 1.30pm. The return bus fare will be £10 or you can make your own arrangements for travel by car. The cost of the visit to the Brewing Centre is £9.95.
All monies must be paid in advance.

Please book your place with Pamela Boura and then post a cheque to her or they can be given to her at the visit to Repton on 29th Oct or at the monthly meeting on 5th November.

A couple of cars need to be dropped off at the Okeover Arms to take drivers to Thorpe to collect their vehicles at the end of the walk.
