Dear Fellow U3A Cyclists,
I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe during the lockdown. As you are no doubt all aware, unless you are self isolating for some reason you are allowed to go out once a day for exercise. This is a great opportunity to continue cycling, albeit on your own, so that you are fit and ready to begin cycling with the group once it starts up again. We are fortunate to live in an area with beautiful countryside on our doorstep, as well as the seafront, so why not use the time to plan a ride for the group for when its your next turn to lead!
Stay safe and keep well. Marion & John
I have a couple of rides to show on the website but they contain a large number of words. Would these be better sent to you on a separate email ? Please let me know my Tel: is 01903 787001 this is the best way to contact me.
WHAT DO THE GROUPS DO?:
A 'Rides' list is circulated each month giving start times and venues and suitability of the route for road/hybrid bikes or mountain bikes. Half day or shorter rides for enjoyment rather than a challenge, are aimed at beginners and experienced riders who prefer a more sedate pace. Most routes are along quiet local roads and some will go off-road along cycling. Includes a mid-morning break for refreshments. Full day rides for experienced riders are between 20 and 40 miles along all types of roads and gradients choosing the quieter roads where possible. Lunch at a suitable cafe or pub, back by late afternoon.
Groups meet alternately on Friday at 10am.
