WHAT DOES THE GROUP DO?:
This is an exercise to music class suitable for all ages and abilities. The exercises are set to well known music from the 60s onwards.
We begin with a thorough warm up sequence, designed to prepare the muscles and joints for brisker activity.
Following on, there is a low impact 15 to 20 minute "cardio" section, to raise the pulse and improve lung function. Participants can control the amount of effort that they exert in this section, making it suitable for all fitness levels.
The next section is devoted to toning exercises for muscle and bone strength, working on a different area of the body each week. We use resistance bands for some exercises, and exercises can be performed on chairs for participants who do not wish to lie on the floor.
The last part is the relaxation section, stretching muscles and working through the entire body to relax each muscle group.
LEVEL OF EXPERTISE:
Any level of fitness can join in.
Mondays, weekly, 10:00am - 11:00 and 11:15 - 12:15
Group 1 is from 10:00 to 11:00am. Group 2 is from 11:15am to 12:15pm.
Term dates are: 8th Jan to 8th April; 22nd April to 26th August; 30th September to 9th December.
NO CLASSES 12th Feb, 6th May, 24th June, 22nd July, 25th November.
