Mah Jong
WHAT DOES THE GROUP DO:
The name of the Chinese game Mah Jong means 'Sparrow', a bird of mythical great intelligence which appears on one of the tiles. It is usually played by 4 people using 144 small tiles divided into 3 suites: Circles, Bamboos and Characters; and 4 sets of honour tiles: Winds, Seasons, Dragons and Flowers. The aim is to collect sequences of tiles, in the manner of Rummy card games.
LEVEL OF EXPERTISE THE GROUP IS AIMED AT:
Prior knowledge of the game is not required.
MEETINGS:
Mah Jong meets 3rd Tuesday of each month, 2:00pm - 4:00pm.
VENUE:
Lovegrove Room, St Andrew's United Reform Church Hall, Holmes Lane, Rustington. BN16 2PY
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
The group has Mah Jong sets, so no equipment needed.
