Alnwick

WALKING

WALKING GROUP.

Meet 2nd, 4th and 5th Wednesdays of each month.

UPDATE
The walk planned for 22nd September has had to be cancelled because almost all of the members of the group, including the leader, will be away.

We usually do circular walks, with a starting point no more that one hour away from Alnwick. We meet at 10.00am and walk until 2.30pm-3.30pm, covering distances of 6 to 10+ miles. We carry our own lunch and drinks. We take time to enjoy the scenery and any wildlife. In the summer months we tend to go into the Cheviot Hills and over winter walk more locally on the coast or inland.

ALNWICK u3a WALKS PROGRAMME FOR 2021
Parts of the programme maybe provisional or in outline with further detail to be added.
Walking group members will be emailed details of the walk a few days before it is due to take place

.*To protect UK birds - The Natural England Countryside Code states that: "the access rights that normally apply to open country and registered common land (known as 'open access' land) requires dogs to be kept on a short lead between 1 March and 31 July, to help protect the ground nesting birds, and all year round near farm animals" …..also that "at the coast, there may also be some local restrictions to require dogs to be kept on a short lead during the bird breeding season, and to prevent disturbance to flocks of resting and feeding birds during other times of year".
