Alcester

Welcome

Founded in 1982, u3a is a UK-wide movement of locally-run groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together. u3a has members who draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other but there are no qualifications to pass – it is just for pleasure.

Alcester u3a was set up in 1992 and now has more than 300 members. It was the first of five local u3as covering South Warwickshire and has established a reputation for being friendly and welcoming.

Alcester u3a is run by its members and we ask members to consider how they can contribute to this, such as by joining the Committee, helping with an interest group, preparing refreshments or befriending new members.

Our monthly meetings for members are normally held, on the first Tuesday of each month, at 2.30pm at the Greig Hall in Alcester. We have a guest speaker and the afternoon concludes with tea/coffee and biscuits.

We also have a wide variety of interest groups for members to join and other activities including theatre visits, coach trips and holidays.
