Croquet

Croquet starts again in April 2020

What is golf croquet all about?

I have had people come to me saying I cannot play the game because I don’t understand what it’s all about or I believe the game is very competitive.

As far as our group is concerned we are a mix of learners and some with more experience, so we learn from each other. Yes we are competitive but in a friendly way!

The aim of the game is for you and your partner to get your balls through as many hoops as possible on the green. Each person has a mallet (supplied by our hosts) and a coloured ball, which is kept for the duration of game. You will be playing against two more people. The skills of the game you will acquire the more you play, as with any sport.

At Llanfairfechan croquet club we have an experienced coach and she gives us free tutorials, which helps our u3a group gain confidence in improving our skills.

The clubhouse is surrounded by some of the most beautiful coastal scenery on the north Wales coast. It’s a pleasure to be there.
