The best snooker players on the planet will be heading to Llandudno for the fourth year in a row in 2018 when the North Wales town stages the Ladbrokes Players Championship.

The tournament at Venue Cymru will run from March 19 to 25 and tickets are on sale now. Fans are strongly urged to book seats fast because the event has proved extremely popular in recent years and certain sessions will sell out fast.

Televised by ITV4, the Ladbrokes Players Championship boasts an elite field of the best 16 cue kings. A unique ranking list runs from the start of the season until the Gibraltar Open which finishes on March 11. Players must battle for every pound throughout the season to earned one of those coveted 16 spots in Llandudno.

Potting sensation Judd Trump won the title last season, beating Hong Kong’s Marco Fu 10-8 in a thrilling final. Ronnie O’Sullivan, John Higgins, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy and Ding Junhui were among the other top stars battling for the £125,000 top prize.

World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn said: “We are delighted to be heading back to Llandudno for what has quickly become one of the most important tournaments of the season.

“Over the past few years we have seen fantastic support for our tournaments in North Wales with local fans packing out Venue Cymru. I expect to see tickets selling even faster this time as supporters realise how lucky they are to have the chance to see the world’s very best competing for a prestigious title.

“For the players, the race is on. Every result is crucial as they strive to get into that top 16 on the one year list and earn a place in the draw. As the tournament draws near, the race will get more intense and only the best will survive. That’s why we get such a strong field for this event.”
