Goudhurst & District

Goudhurst & District U3A is part of a national organisation dedicated to encouraging its members to enjoy learning for pleasure. Our aim is to Learn, Laugh and Live!

The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a learning co-operative of people who are no longer in full-time employment sharing educational, creative and leisure activities. Our activities are mainly organised in small groups, known as interest groups, who meet regularly often in members' homes. Through sharing our passion for knowledge, members learn from each other using our skills and experience. More information on our interest groups can be found by clicking on the Groups button at the top of this page.

We hold general meetings in Goudhurst Village Hall starting at 2.30 pm on the third Wednesday of every month. A warm welcome is guaranteed together with a knowledgeable and interesting speaker, refreshments and a chance to get to know other members and find out more about our interest groups and activities.

We also organise social outings which will be advertised on our website Notice Board, through emails to members and at our monthly meetings.

Our membership year starts on 1 November with an annual membership fee of £25.00. This allows you to belong to any number of interest groups and covers the cost of monthly speakers and membership of The Third Age Trust with a quarterly magazine. If you join part way through the year, the membership fee will be adjusted accordingly. Non-members can attend the monthly meetings at a cost of £2.50, payable at the door, but to join an interest group you must be a member of Goudhurst U3A.

I do hope that you will join us for friendship, grey cell stimulation and enjoyment.
