Whitby Whaler

Welcome

Whitby “Whaler” U3A group was formed in 1987, and currently has hundreds of members. The term “Whaler” refers not to the town’s rich seafaring history, but is an acronym from WHitby Activities Learning & Education in Retirement. We have almost 50 individual groups meeting regularly, mostly over the winter months, providing opportunities for both leisure and learning. In addition there are occasional outings organised by some of the groups – please see ‘Events’ page for details.

Annual fees are £12, and at most of the group meetings there is an additional charge of £1. If you are interested in joining, or would like to meet committee members and find out more about the organisation, please come to one of our coffee mornings. Alternatively you can contact the Secretary by e-mail via the ‘Contacts’ page for further details.
