Welcome to Chew Valley U3A

The University of the Third Age is a national institution with currently more than 500 local branches. Each branch is autonomous with its own Committee and membership who decide on its own activities. It is intended specifically for those who are no longer in gainful employment to enable people with common or related interests to get together in order to pursue their hobbies or studies interactively.

Our Group was formed in 2000 and now comprises some 200 members. We meet once a month for coffee and a talk by a visiting speaker on all manner of topics. Some of our own members give talks about their particular interests.

We have some 20 individual groups which meet at regular intervals and are led by members of the Group.
