About Longridge u3a

Who We are

.
Longridge u3a was formed in April 2014 and now has over 220 members and 26 interest groups. We are a branch of the University of the Third Age Movement which nationally has over 300,000 members. We welcome retired and semi-retired people from Longridge and the surrounding villages who wish to meet together, not to gain qualifications but for the sheer joy of discovery as its own reward. The Groups page of this website lists our special interest groups which range from learning languages to circle dancing.
Individual Membership is £20 per year and Couples(same address) Membership is £30 per year. There are reductions should you join part way through the year.

This entitles members to:
• Meetings with guest speakers held at Longridge Civic Hall at 13:45 on the first Tuesday of the month.
The list of speakers for 2024 is on the Documents page.
• Access to special interest groups (generally free except for a small charge for room hire and refreshments where appropriate).
• Excursions and events organised by the special interest groups.
• Our u3a national magazine Third Age Matters (5 editions per year).
• Social events.
• Free access to the interest groups run by our Network u3a's. See the "Agreement with other u3a's document on the documents page.
• Our "Try it Twice for Free" allows anyone interested in joining to attend two monthly meetings or interest groups before becoming a member or not.

If you are interested contact our Membership Secretary for more information or download a Membership Application Form from the Documents page to join now.
