CURRENT GROUP STATUS
This group meets regularly every Monday between 2pm and 5pm at a venue in the central Ealing area.
We play standard British Acol (weak no trump, four card majors) without any fixed partnerships so that everyone gets an opportunity to play with different partners.
Everyone is expected to be of “improver” standard and to understand basic conventions including Stayman, Transfers, Blackwood, Weak Twos, Weak Jump Overcalls, Negative Doubles, Fourth Suit Forcing. Anyone unfamiliar with some of these is welcome so long as they are prepared to learn how to bid them. Many members of the group are willing to provide guidance on this if necessary.
Although play is the primary objective, we like to provide a learning environment and encourage discussion of hands as a means to improvement.
