Cynon Valley

Groups are self-organising with a Group Leader to co-ordinate the programme and activities. Persons taking part in Group activities must be members of Cynon Valley u3a.

The Groups are;
Beginners French -... Helen Charles / 01685 872142
This is an activity for those who have, or have not, some knowledge of French and wish to begin, or extend their ability to converse in French. The emphasis is therefore on how words fit together to be able to make meaningful sentences, expressions, and how to pronounce them so that whatever is said is understood by the person (s) one is talking to.
The sessions are carried out in a friendly manner and it is not a back to school learning French event.
Use is also made of YouTube programmes on learning basic French. These programmes are shown on a large screen and provide further helpful knowledge on how to converse in French in a practical way and gives an insight to the French countryside and way of life.
Whilst this is primarily a beginners course it does not exclude those who have a knowledge of French and who wish to join in. You are very welcome. Merci beaucoup!

Out and About - .... .Christine Griffiths / 01685 872774

Gardening -...... ... .Marion Rivers / 01685 874997
The Gardening Group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at Aberdare Library at 11.00am. Our meetings are to help members plan their their gardens - for vegetables and flowers. We have packets of seeds that we share and discuss - some success, some failures but we learn from these.
We share ideas to promote our skills successfully.
We do plan some garden visits, our local allotments are very helpful and always ready to accept us on a visit.
We would welcome any new members-irrespective of their gardening knowledge.
Gardening is for enjoyment.
