Changes to this Website

The 'Sitebuilder' software used to construct and support this website has been in use for many years and is now due for an upgrade. The team of volunteers who have maintained the support software on the server are now wishing to retire, so a new software structure and team is required.

The Third Age Trust instigated a project called Siteworks to develop a replacement system which is now being rolled out to about 800 U3As who use the Sitebuilder system. This website will soon be migrated onto the new software, and like all computer updates, the website appearance will change when the new version goes 'live'. For a time the bookmarks and server addresses for the old Sitebuilder server will (as far as possible) redirect page requests to the equivalent page on the new server system but eventually the old bookmarks will need to be updated. Google and Bing etc. will eventually also update their indices to find the new server address.

Further information is available on the Siteworks project website.

Monthly General Meetings

Monthly General Meetings have resumed in the Main Hall at the Crowborough Community Centre.

OUTINGS

Please join us on our Outings. Due to past experience we have introduced a £20 non-refundable booking deposit for all trips. Please see the terms and conditions form and then complete the booking form, including your mobile phone number, so that you can be contacted during the Outing.

Please remember that everyone on the trip needs to be a member of a U3A or actively considering becoming one. Unless this is the case the insurance is invalidated.

Cheques to be made payable to 'Crowborough U3A Outings'.

When paying by BACS the reference should include the members name and the name of the trip. We don't really need the membership number any more.

Also please ensure you return to the transport at the agreed time and verify that it is the correct bus. Keep your mobile phone switched on.

Trips

Please note that in future we will not be organising any trips in January or February largely due to uncertain weather conditions.

From now on, any payments for trips should be made by BACS or cheque, as cash will no longer be accepted.

Volunteers wanted at the Monthly Meetings

Are you able to help out welcoming and registering members or are you able to help serve refreshments? Greeting and welcoming members is an important aspect of our work. If interested please contact the Chairman via the link on the contacts page.

ENGLISH HERITAGE
To any group organising a trip to an English Heritage site, a reminder that U3As are included in the list of learning groups entitled to be called 'students' and therefore entitled to free group visits, providing your Group Organiser applies to the venue in advance.

U3A WEBSITE - MEMBERS' AREA
If you have not already done so, please register with the members' area on www.u3a.org.uk. You will then be able to access a wide range of U3A documents, advice sheets, merchandise and much else. It is very easy to do. You will need to choose your own individual username and password.
