Gardening 1
The group was started in April 2011 and has a full programme, meeting on the first and third Tuesday morning each month in the spring and summer, and in the winter months once a month. We visit each other’s gardens to exchange plants, ideas and listen to short talks. This limits the numbers in the group so there has been a waiting list to join. Another garden group is due to start in June which will allow more people to participate. Last year, in agreement with the U3A committee, we went by coach to RHS Wisley, and this year in September we are going by coach to Beth Chatto Gardens, this is open to all U3A members. We are arranging a visit to a local nursery, and visits to public gardens by members’ cars. During the winter we meet in members’ homes, watch garden DVDs and slides taken during the year. In December we celebrate the end of the season with a bring and share lunch.
We meet once a month during the Winter.
They meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 10.30.
