St Neots & District

Welcome to St Neots & District U3A

Chairman’s Welcome letter to any new members.

“U3A” was founded in 1982 and is a UK-wide collection of locally run “Interest Groups” that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to enjoy exploring new ideas, skills and activities together
St Neots & District U3A is one of over 1000 branches in the United Kingdom, which in total have over 400,000 members.
So, welcome to St. Neots & District U3A. Our branch was formed in July 1998 and has grown over the last 20 plus years, with over 1000 members and 50 plus group activities. This is purely down to volunteers who have stepped forward under the banner of u3a and spread their knowledge and generated interest with other likeminded local people on the various subjects of interest that is the foundation of the U3A.

If any of the Activities are of interest to you, but are temporarily suspended, please contact the Group Leaders or any committee member, as there are is a great deal of online, Zoom, WhatsApp and email communication taking place, maintaining contact and achieving the LEARN, LAUGH AND LIVE philosophy of the u3a.
New members are always welcome to attend our Monthly Meetings, normally held in the Great Hall of the Priory Centre on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month. This meeting is usually attended by approximately 200 of our members
This monthly event is where members meet to find out what’s coming up over the forthcoming months in respect of trips, outings and other functions. We have a speaker each month who comes in and tells us interesting stories, followed by tea and coffee and a chance to sit and talk to old friends and indeed, make new friends and meet members new to the U3A.
We have a Monthly Newsletter, which is sent out by email or post, with information and news on what’s happening at group level, details of special events taking place, new groups being evolved and lots more.
Please visit the various pages of this website by clicking the buttons above. The web pages give details of our growing number of groups and activities; plus details of future trips, outings, theatre and concert visits, holidays etc. and information on how to join our U3A.

Our Publications Team and Committee like to keep the website up to date so please contact the Web Administrator if any of the information on this website is incorrect.

Kindest regards.

Ian Richardson
