Group Leader: Rita Bennett
The Gardening Group's original aim was to meet with like-minded people who enjoyed gardening and wished to gain confidence to explore new ideas through sharing practical gardening tips. Over the years, we have attracted additional members who love to VISIT gardens, even though they may not have a garden of their own. The Gardening Group caters to both. The Group meets regularly, at least once a month, to visit gardens, attend demonstrations and to engage guest speakers to broaden gardening knowledge on a variety of related subjects.
An annual membership fee of £10 is charged to pay for room hire, speakers, administration etc. The group has over 50 members currently.
A committee of Rita Bennett (Co-ordinator), Pam Greatrex (Assistant Co-ordinator/Treasurer) and Marylou Jeffs(Secretary) ensures these activities are sustained.
