Did you know you can significantly help Silhill u3a each time you book a holiday with Riviera? All you need to do is to provide Riviera with the name of your u3a (Silhill u3A) within 24 hours of booking your holiday. One month after your trip is completed, Riviera will contact you to advise you of the commission they are paying to u3A - 10% of the basic holiday cost is goes to the 3rd Age Trust who will then forward on 9% of this amount onto our own Silhill u3a. NEW COMPUTOR COURSES WITH ROB IRELAND
Solihull Widney u3a Online Computer Courses
A new series of courses will start in February - on Mondays at 2.00pm and on Tuesdays at 10.00am on Zoom
Each course will have 10 sessions but participants can join for individual sessions for specific topics of interest.

GOLF Gavin Menzies has agreed to act as secretary for a newly formed Golf Interest Group. All interested golfers (of any standard) should email him at Gavin Menzies so that he can set up a database of members wishing to be involved. Club membership is not required but would any members of local clubs confirm which and whether a society game could be organised there.

Just to remind everyone to look out for scam emails are doing the rounds. I have recently received an email from 'Microsoft' asking me to login via a link and confirm my details. This was a definite scam email and if I had followed the link they would have access to email accounts, Facebook and any other social media accounts.
So beware, if it doesn't look right it properly isn't. Don't open it, just delete it

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY -- ICE
As we enjoy so many outings and visits, the committee thought it would be a good idea for us all to have an emergency contact number on our mobile phones. Add ICE and a name, eg ICE Fred and the contact's telephone number to your contact list on your phone. ICE is recognisable as "In Case of Emergency" In case of an accident or emergency your chosen person can be contacted.
Owners of iPhones may wish to download the "iEmergency+" app from the Apple app store, which will enable you to give fuller details.
