Welcome to Cottingham U3A

Founded in 1982, the University of the Third Age is an organisation that seeks to provide informal learning activities for people no longer in full-time employment. It is run entirely on a self-help basis: all the committee members and group leaders are volunteers. To find out more about the U3A movement click U3A on the bar above and you will go to the national website.

Cottingham U3A has around 250 members and new people are always welcome. Annual membership costs £12 (£18 for 2 people living at the same address). We have a monthly meeting, which everyone is welcome to attend, and there are also many interest groups. For details of these click Events and Groups on the bar above.

Cottingham U3A is a member of The Humber Accord. This is an informal association of several U3As in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The other members are Awake (Anlaby, Willerby and Kirkella), Beverley, Caves, Hornsea, Hull, Howden, Swanland and Hessle U3As. (Click on a name to go to that U3A's website.) The Accord entitles members of one local U3A to attend interest groups of other U3As, provided there is room and with the agreement of the relevant Group leader.

Cottingham U3A forms part of the Yorkshire and Humber Region U3A. To find out more, click this link to the Yorkshire and Humber region U3A website.
