Welcome to Carlisle and District U3A
Like most other U3As, we are a member of the Third Age Trust.
We count our birthdays from 1995 and have been a registered charity since 1999.
We draw our members from all over the Carlisle district, including its surrounding villages and small towns. Roughly, our catchment area lies within a 15 mile radius of Carlisle although we have members from further afield.
We currently have about 665 members and about 50 separate interest / activity groups. click on the GROUPS icon to see the full list.
Most of our activities take place during daytime and most of them are FREE to members
Third Thursday Afternoon Talks take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month Please follow the Meetings and Social Activities link for details
Some of our members meet for Coffee on the first Monday in each month. Please follow the Meetings and Social Activities link for details. PLEASE NOTE that the Merienda will be opening later on the 6th May, so we will not be meeting for coffee until 12 noon on that day.
A programme of theatre visits is organised under the name of Culture Vultures
