Dart Valley

Welcome to the Dart Valley u3a

Based in Dartmouth and meeting at the splendid Flavel Centre, the Dart Valley u3a is a thriving and active group.

Dart Valley u3a was formed in 1999 by Andy and Joyce Borthwick. They recognised that Dartmouth and its surrounding area had few activities which happened during the day. Their foresight has made it possible for the many people who retire to South Devon to continue their active life without having to venture out in the dark!

Dart Valley u3a has 440 members currently and is blessed with many innovative and involved members.

Dartmouth itself is an historical town and port. It is a fun and interesting place to live. The Dart Valley u3a aims to bring pleasure, learning and companionship to those living here and in surrounding villages.

If you have a skill or knowledge about a subject you might like to share, you can do this by starting a new group. New interest groups are formed either by a member who wants to start and run a group, or by a member who would like to attend a group and is looking for like-minded members to form a new group.

Interested in Geology, walking, or a visitor to Dartmouth?

If you are a visitor to Dartmouth, you might be interested in our Geology Trail (see 'Links' top right). The Dartmouth trail provides a Geological Building Trail through the town centre. This was created by the Geology Group of Dart Valley u3a - Convener Tim Freeman in 2020.
