Notes of the planned trips and events

As all members will be aware, the cost of coaches has risen. We have been well served by KB Coaches over the past few years and they still offer competitive prices. However, they require a firm confirmation 6 weeks prior to the date of travel and the Churchdown u3a is then required to make payment. It is therefore necessary to require full payment at the time of booking your trip.

Should the trip be cancelled due to insufficient numbers, your money will be refunded. Should you be unable to attend for whatever reason and the trip goes ahead, there can be no refund unless we have excess numbers of interested members to cover the passenger requirements. This is usually 48 seats sold out of 56.

Coach trips have been an integral part of our outdoor activities since Paul Grierson, previous Chair, first organised a coach trip specifically for the Walking Group, but open to all members, to Somerset in 2017. It was such a success that he then organised a trip to the Bath Christmas Market which again proved very popular. With the popularity growing for more coach trips Jane Moore, our current secretary, volunteered to assist Paul which she did resulting in a number of very successful trips being organised by them. This year Paul needed to cut back on his ever-growing commitments, so Liz and Di have been the organisers for our coach trips this year. However, they have decided that the coach trip to the National Archive at Kew in September will be the last one they will organise.

On behalf of the Committee and all Members of the u3a I would like to thank them for all their endeavours and hard work in giving us some wonderful days out.

The Committee have decided that, for the moment, we will leave the organisation of trips in abeyance and revisit the possibilities next year.
